Bruno Andreas Liljefors [1860-1939] was a Swedish artist, and the most important wildlife painter of his time. He was a lifelong hunter, and often painted predator-prey action. Liljefors had a collection of wild animals that acted as his living models, although he occasionally used dead specimens as well. His work took on a darker quality in the late ninteenth century, which was believed to be the result of turmoil in his personal life. |
